Fall Into Relaxation – Treat Yourself and Take a Day at the Spa

As we near the busiest stretch of the year, it’s good to know where you can turn for a relaxing spa treatment. When you’re ready to wind down, here are some of the best spas across Upstate New York.

Woodcliff Hotel and Spa

Leave your stress at the door and say hello to relaxation when you enter Woodcliff Hotel and Spa. Situated just outside of Rochester, NY, Woodcliff sits atop Monroe County's hills and overlooks the village of Fairport. Their Spa Elan is located on the second level of the hotel and consists of six spa treatment rooms, seven nail stations, four hair stations, and two make-up stations.

Prior to spa services, slip into a robe and sandals and decompress in the relaxation area. To further one’s health and beauty, spa guests are welcome to a complimentary one-day access pass to Woodcliff’s health club facilities which include workout facilities, an indoor-outdoor pool, whirl pool, and dry saunas in each locker room.

Turning Stone Resort Casino

Turning Stone Resort Casino is much more than just a casino; it also has numerous accommodations, restaurants, nightlife and lounges, and spas. You read that correctly, it doesn’t have just one spa - it has two!

As their website describes, “Pass through the doors of Áhsi' (awaken) and begin your personal journey to become one with nature. Natural elements will revive your spirit, nourish your skin and soothe your soul.” Áhsi' takes guests on rejuvenating spa journey with treatments for skincare, body (including scrubs and wraps), and massage therapy. Locker room facilities for both men and women include a sauna, steam room, and whirlpool. Spa guests are invited to use the hotel pool and the Tower Fitness Club on the day of their service.

Ska:ná, the Oneida word for peace, is where soothing treatments and modern amenities combine with American Indian cultural themes to create the world’s most luxuriously unique spa experience. Some of their treatments include balancing remedies that feature the healing tradition of therapeutic herbal and mineral wraps and scrubs, restorative baths and relaxing massages in luxurious combinations to shed stress, restore balance and harmony, and to invigorate the body, mind, and spirit.

Guests are encouraged to arrive 40 minutes before their appointment to begin their spa experience with the powers of water, an important life force according to Oneida teachings. The progressive steps of the Balancing Waters Ritual are designed to be relaxing yet stimulating to the circulatory and central nervous system.

La Tourelle Resort & Spa

Situated on 70 acres nestled in the rolling hills of Ithaca, NY, La Tourelle Resort & Spa provides luxurious rooms and suites for girlfriend getaways or romantic escapes. To complete the experience, guests are encouraged to visit August Moon Spa - their sanctuary that blends traditional Eastern therapies with Western knowledge.

Ithaca, NY is known for their waterfalls (as they say, Ithaca is gorges) so it only makes sense that August Moon offers unique and memorable waterfall treatments where warm water rains from six shower heads above the treatment table during a guest’s scrub. Their Taughannock Falls Treatment (named after one of Ithaca’s most famous waterfalls) is a customized remedy, combining a scrub appropriate for your skin type, hot stone massage using personally blended essential oils for skin conditioning application, and the warm water from overhead.

August Moon Spa offers original creations of spa products that utilize organic and local ingredients, with many resources coming from the Finger Lakes region. Examples include top-grade maple used in treatments and vino-therapy from the local wineries.

Rasa Spa

Also in Ithaca, Rasa Spa is meant to inspire living that is beautiful, whole, and healthy. They offer a holistic approach, showing how easy it can be to take care of your mind, body, and spirit. This is experienced through the various events they run each month, such as lecture series, yoga sessions, and meditation; the massages they offer - including sports massage, prenatal massage, oncology massage, medical massage, and more; and energy work, such as Reiki, Wholeness Healing, and Craniosacral Therapy - engaging with the central nervous system to enliven the body’s own healing abilities.

Now is a great time to visit! Their fall treatments use pumpkins (which are filled with vitamins A, E, and C and loaded with powerful enzymes that help cleanse the skin) for massages and masques.
