Exercise Your Way Through New York!
Nowadays, staying active seems hard to do, but in New York it is easy to make it part of your everyday activities. I never have been an avid gym-goer, but I do find other ways to stay fit while enjoying the summer sunshine. Check out a few of my favorite things to do:
Charlotte Beach and Perinton Center Park host Rochester Yoga in the Park, a seasonal activity that welcomes all experience levels to come quiet their mind and activate their muscles by participating in Vinyasa style flow yoga.
The Finger Lakes are home to beautiful sites, great wineries and amazing food, but they also are home to even better bike trails. Explore local experts favorite bike trails while biking along the lakes, woods or parks that are in the area.
Hiking is another great adventure that is sure to give you a good workout. A few of my favorite places are Watkins Glen State Park Gorge Trail, Buttermilk Falls Gorge Trail and Letchworth State Park Gorge Trail which connects to miles of other trails. Great views and a guaranteed workout! (If you visit Letchworth State Park, try whitewater rafting! It is an exhilarating, and slightly terrifying, experience that you will be talking about for years.)
Is it too hot to be out in the sun? Well, New York has a solution for that, exercise in the water! Try kayaking or canoeing with Reagan's Finger Lakes Canoe & Kayak Livery, wakeboard or waterski with Chautauqua Marina, or rent a paddleboard or sailboat with Keuka Watersports.
From yoga to whitewater rafting, there is something for everyone in New York. Stay fit and join in on our fun!
