A Seasons Long Schedule of Events in Upstate New York


There is a lot to do during this holiday season, but you can’t forget to make time for the magic of the season and the memories of a lifetime.

December 1:

Roc Holiday Village and Liberty Pole Lighting: Start the season off right with food, music, free ice skating, and a visit from Santa. Plus the annual lighting of the liberty pole that shines bright in center city.

Christmas in Gowanda 2018: A family centric traditional village celebration with all the makings of a Hallmark classic. Get ready for the Holiday Spirit Parade with fireworks afterwards, attend the Tree Lighting Ceremony, or for adults this year get aboard the Wine and Cheese Tasting Ride!

December 2:

Festival of Trees: Tour the historic Granger Homestead while it is decorated with beautiful and themed trees and wreaths. A silent auction allows visitors the chance to bring a piece of the holiday decor home.

December 7:

Festival of Lights: Experience downtown transformed into a winter wonderland. Enjoy seeing homes decked with lights galore, the festival also has activities including free horse-drawn wagon rides, live entertainment, and shopping.

Cirque Musica Holiday Presents Wonderland: Kodak Center presents amazing acrobats, aerialists, hilarious hijinks and holiday cheer accompanied by the best of holiday music performed live by a symphony orchestra.

December 8:

Historic Palmyra’s Homestead Holiday Candlelight House Tour:Tour throughout the town’s historic homes dating back to the 1800s. Festive decor, food, and handmade gifts make this a special night for those of all ages.

December 10:

Lyons Community Center Winter Bazar: Support the community and shop from over 90 local crafters and vendors. There is plenty of fun for kids too, with inflatables, craft classes and breakfast with Santa.

Community Holiday Fireworks: Get together with friends and family as the Wallington Fire Department says thank you to the town with a celebration of light and color. The display kicks-off at 6pm with complimentary food and drink provided.

December 14:

Friday Frolic with Park Naturalists at Letchworth: Spend the afternoon with naturalist Douglas Bassett, as you explore the park and learn about the animals and environment. All ages and abilities are welcome, so bring a friend.

December 16:

Yuletide in the Country: Travel back in time and experience the celebration of Christmas in 1849 New York. Enjoy music, dancing and tree lighting as you visit village homes and businesses and begin to understand how traditions came to be.

December 1-12:

Sweet Creations at George Eastman: Upgrade your museum visit with a creative display of deliciouslily decorated gingerbread homes.

December 1-16:

Polar Express Train Rides: All aboard the 1 hour train ride that features entertainers dressed as chefs serving cookies and hot chocolate, just like the movie! Including narrated story time and a visit to the North Pole this will be a highlight of the season.

December 1-23:

Garden Factory Holiday Music and Light Show: Over 500 illuminated trees all in one room! Dazzlingly luminous trees and wreaths, with lights draped across the walls and carpeting the floor. The whole show is set to synchronized music with holiday hits new and old.

Bonus: New Years Eve Events & Happenings

Light Up Your New Years Eve: A family focused evening with ice skating, photo booths and bounce houses.

New Years Eve Dinner: Share an intimate dinner on the slopes culminated with a champagne toast to welcome the new year.

New Years Eve Celebration: A family friendly event with a perfect view of the Groomer Parade and the torchlight parade on Cindy's Run at 11:15 and the fireworks at 11:45 with the Grand Finale at midnight!
