Camping in Upstate NY: Still S’more Fun to Be Had This Summer!

The hustle and bustle of everyday life definitely keeps things interesting. Maintaining a balance between work, my social life and my hobbies can be challenging and exhilarating all at the same time. But every once in awhile, I feel the need to recharge and connect with nature. My favorite way to do this is to pack up the car and hit the road to one of the many beautiful camping sites in Upstate New York!

Letchworth State Park, also known as the “Grand Canyon of the East,” has tons of cabins to choose from if you prefer a little extra comfort when camping. Filled with my favorite hiking trails, Letchworth always leads to a fun-filled weekend (or week if I need the extra time away). The views are always beautiful, but are especially breathtaking in the fall.

In the warmer months especially, I love to camp near what can be argued as one of the most beautiful areas in the state, Lake Chautauqua. A trip to Chautauqua Institution is always an eye-opening and unique experience, but there are also so many things to do right near the water.

My friends have been going to Conesus Lake Campground for years, and this summer, I was finally able to go along with them. It’s a beautiful spot to camp, and we were even able to rent a boat and spend some time out on the lake, which was my favorite part (or second favorite after the s’mores, of course). While some of our group spent time fishing, I got in the water and was able to scuba dive! It was a fun experience I definitely can’t wait to try again.

There is nothing like the cool morning air, relaxing nights and breathtaking natural sights that can be found when camping in Upstate New York. For help planning your trip, explore our website or get in touch with the Cross Border Showcase team today!
